"Hero" is a song by latin pop singer Enrique Iglesias, featured as a single from his English album number two, titled "Escape".
This pop song was promoted by the label Interscope Records and the album version has a length of 4 minutes and 24 second. There has been a Radio Edit version as well, which only has 4 minutes and 11 seconds. It was recorded during the year 2011 and released initially on the third of September, 2011.
The format for release was a CD single. It was written by Iglesias himself, helped by two others, Mark Taylor and Paul Barry. Mark Taylor was the producer of the song as well. It has been very successful, getting certified Platinum by both the ARIA and the BPI.

In 2002, "Hero" was nominated for a series of awards. First of all, at the My VH1 Music Awards, it got nominated for Best Actor in a Video, thanks to Jennifer Love Hewitt. The second category was the Is It Hot In Here, Or Is It Just My Video. At "The Record of the Year Award", it was nominated for Record of the Year. It managed to win the Billboard Latin Music Award for Latin Dance Club / Play Track of the Year.
It also won the Comet Award for Best Male Video. It was awarded Video of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Award ceremony, as well as the Los Premios MTV Latinoamerica one. It won the MTV VMA for MTV Latin America, Pacific version. In 2003, it also won the Song of the Year award at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards ceremony.
