Very young artist and amazing voice – Duncan Laurence is a Dutch singer and songwriter, born in April 1994 in South Holland.
Duncan Laurence began his career in 2014, playing piano and vocals, concentrating mainly on pop music.
He became a semi-finalist in the fifth season of The Voice of Holland and represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 with his amazing song named Arcade.
The performance brought him success, winning the competition and through this giving Netherlands again the chance to win its Eurovision since 1975.
Arcade is written by Duncan Laurence, Joel Sjoo, Wouter Hardy, Will Knox and produced by Wouter Hardy and Oscar Holleman.
The song was released in March 2019 as part of his debut studio album named Small Town Boy and the EP Worlds on Fire.
The song also has an acoustic version, released in July 2019.
Once released, the song won an Edison Award for best pop song of the year in February 2020, went viral on social media, topped the charts in many countries.
It became the most-streamed Eurovision song ever on Spotify.
The free Arcade piano sheet music has a length of 3:04 minutes and is inspired by the heartbreak of a loved one of Duncan’s, who unfortunately died.
Arcade is a love song; it is about a story of searching for the love of your life. The story behind the lyrics is about the hope of reaching something that seems impossible.
The composition of the Arcade song is inspired by movie soundtracks, consisting of 165 tracks.
The song has in its composition piano, vocals, guitar, and heavy drums, to enhance the anger and frustration of the singer.
The free Arcade piano sheets has also a duet version released by Duncan Laurence in November 2020, featuring the American singer Fletcher.
Arcade is a very promising song, which we believe will be all over media channels many years from now, so it is a good moment to start playing it on your own at your piano.
