Kodaline won an EBBA award, "Public Chice Award", in 2013, and they were nominated at the MTV Music Awards for "Brand New For 2013", as well as at the BBC Awards for "Sound Of 2013".
The music video for the single was released on January 23, 2013 via YouTube with a duration of four minutes and ten seconds, unlike the track’s length of three minutes and thirty-one seconds.
It featured actor Liam Cunningham. The video presents the story of a man who, while driving his car and preparing to kill himself, sees a woman who is trying to get away from her broom.
He invites her in and helps her escape, and, as time goes by, they develop a beautiful love story. However, the angry broom finds them and tries to kill them both. It ends with a scene in which the main character is in the hospital along with his lover, as they both survived the experience.
"High Hopes" reached number sixteen on the UK Singles Chart, number 13 in Scotland and 23 in Australia.
Kodaline's song has become a very popular song, which receives much demand from the audience.
