Maps is a track from the American pop rock band Maroon 5.
The song combines many musicals like electronic rock, R&B, and progressive house. It was written by the singer, Adam Levine, and Ammar Malik, Noel Zancanella, Ryan Tedder, and Benny Blanco.
Malik and the latter are old collaborators of Levine, having worked with him on "Moves Like Jagger", "Payphone", while the other ones worked with him on "Lucky Strike" and "Love Somebody".
The up-tempo track is written in C Minor and the lyrics' main theme is the search for love.

The song was number three in South Africa, number two in Croatia, number three on the Euro Digital Songs, in Lebanon, number 5 in Serbia and Finland, number six in Germany and Iceland, number 8 in Denmark, Israel and number ten in the Czech Republic, 11 in Hungary and four in Italy.
The music video for Maps was directed by Peter Berg with whom Adam Levine previously collaborated on "One More Night". It was released on July 1, 2014, on MTV and VH1 and on the singer's VEVO channel on July 2, the same year. The music video is based on the 2002 film "Irreversible", which is why the events are reversed.
Levine portraits a hospital paramedic at the beginning of the video. It also features Matt Flynn, PJ Morton, Jesse Carmichael, Micky Madden, and James Valentine.
The first time Maps was performed was at the Bowery Ballroom, in New York City, on July 20, 2014. The also played it at The Today Show from June 25, 2014, in order to promote the band's fifth studio album, named "V". Another live performance of the song was offered at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, from August 24, the same year.
