"As Long as You Love Me" is a song by Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber, which was featured as a single on his 2012 album titled "Believe".
The song has been produced by Darkchild and Andre Lindal and written by a team made of Lindal, Bieber, Rodney Jerkins, Nasri Atweh and Sean Anderson. It was released by three labels, Schoolboy, RBMG and Island and was made fist available on the eleventh of June, 2012.
The single features hip hop artist Big Sean and also incorporates dubstep and synthpop elements. First intended as a promo single, it was then officially released as single number two for the album. The promotional version of the song ranked place thirty on the UK charts, the official version getting higher, up to number 22.
On the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay Charts, the song reached the top, being his first song to do so. On the Billboard Hot 100, it reached as high as sixth place, a record for Bieber.
Selling over 2 million times in the US alone, the single was fairly successful, also getting to the top of the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts. A music video was released, in which Michael Madsen, an actor, appears. It was filmed in the summer of 2012, airing first on YouTube in July.
The video’s director was Anthony Madler, with cinematographic elements by David Devlin and featuring editor Jacquelyn London. The location of the filming was California, more specifically in Los Angeles.
The first live performance of "As Long as You Love Me" by Justin Bieber was at the Oslo Opera House. The concert took place on the 30th of May, 2012, when he was involved in a promotional tour for the "Believe" album. Big Sean and Bieber played the song together first at the Today Show, then at the Teen Choice Awards, in 2012.
Other performances were in "America’s Got Talent", "Dancing With The Stars" and ‘Saturday Night Live", in 2013.
An EP with digital remixes was released soon after the original version.
It featured three versions by Ferry Corsten, first a Remix, then a Club Dub and finally a Radio Mix. Three other versions from Audiobot were available on the EP as well. A Remix, an Instrumental version and a Radio Mix were the Audiobot versions. Paulo & Jackinsky also had 3 versions: a Club Mix, a Dub version and a Radio Mix. The last 3 versions were the Audien ones. First, there was a Dubstep Radio Mix, then a Dubstep Mix and a Luvxtep Mix version.
