"Elle me dit" is the title of a pop single by the English singer/songwriter Mika.
It was featured on album number three from the pop artist, titled "The Origin of Love". Recorded during 2011, it was released on the eleventh of July, 2011 and made available as a digital download and CD single. This pop song has a length of 3 minutes and 38 seconds and was backed by the labels Barclay and Casablanca.
It was co-written by Mika alongside Doriand and co-produced by Greg Wells.
"Elle me dit" translates to "She Tells Me" in English and was released in France as a single version, before the official release of the third album.
It was recorded again by Mika, this time in English and re-titled "Emily". The "Emily" version was added to the tracklist, while "Elle me dit" was made a bonus track for the French version, as well as other deluxe renditions.
"Elle me dit" was advertised on the first of July, 2011 with 12 seconds from it being shown on the Internet. After only 10 more days, it was made available in France on the iTunes Store. The official release date was delayed until the 26th of September, 2011. The music video for "Elle me dit" is created by director Kinga Burza and was put online on the 16th of August, 2011.
The video contains scenes of a family whose members dance and sing alongside the song’s melody. Other scenes show the same family members arguing or doing silly things. Semi-famous actors from France are featured in the video, the likes of Fanny Ardant, Patrice Pujol, Marie-Clotilde Ramos-Ibanez and Axel Huet.
On the CD single version, two different renditions of the song are included. The first one was a Radio Edit with a length of only 3 minutes and 27 seconds. The second version was a remix from Beataucue and has a length of 5 minutes and 14 seconds.
During 2011 and 2014, "Elle me dit" has charted moderately well internationally. In Belgium, it has topped the charts for the Ultratop 50 Wallonia and Belgium Dance Ultratop Wallonia.
On the Canadian Hot 100 charts, it managed to get as high as rank 43. It topped the French SNEP charts, while only making it to 65 in Slovakia. In South Korea it made it to the seventh position, while in Switzerland it stopped at 16. It was ultimately certified Gold in Belgium.
