Coldplay - Spies sheet music

"Spies" is a song by British alternative rock band Coldplay, featured on their debut album, "Parachutes".

Getting released by the label Parlophone on July 10, 2000 in the United Kingdom, it was co-produced with the aid of Ken Nelson and, for one track, Chris Allison.

A huge commercial success, the album got certified 8 times Platinum in the United Kingdom and 2 times in the United States, ultimately winning the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002.

"Spies", even if not famous, it was not released as a single, is a classic Coldplay song, with a slow, moody tempo and we hope that you will enjoy the nice piano sheet that resulted from it.

The lyrics and the message that the song transmits are both paranoid feeling-inducing, even if the mood of the song is not as gloomy or dooming. With "no peace of mind" and "I cannot see so clear", "see that no one is free", "we’re all fugitives" in its composition, the song can be looked at with a negative face, because it tells us to be aware of the "spies that hide out in every corner", that want to keep us caged.

The melodic style of the tune however, as said before, does not leave such a negative feeling around the message, it’s more a melancholic state that can’t really be defined.

The sheet music resulting from transitioning this song are pretty confusing, but fun to learn on the piano nonetheless, we think that Coldplay’s album is one of the best rock albums ever and the critics tend to approve with us.

MacKenzie Wilson of Allmusic said about the "Parachutes" album that it introduces Coldplay a great achievement.

It’s natural that that’s what they’ve done with their songs on their album, one of them being "Spies", which creates a tense, yet pleasant atmosphere.
