Blackpink - Stay sheet music

Today we are going to talk about Stay – by Blackpink. Blackpink is a South Korean girl band, formed in 2016.

The group consists of four members – Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa.

They sing mostly K-pop, hip-hop, trap, and EDM and collaborate with YG, YGEX, and Interscope records.

Their most famous singles are Whistle, Boombayah, and Ice Cream.

Stay is one of their most loved songs, released by Blackpink through YG Entertainment in November 2016.

The song was released as part of the band’s album named Square Two.

The free Stay piano sheet music is considered a folk-pop song and once released, it peaked at number 10 on the Gaon Digital Chart, and number 4 on the US World Digital Songs.

Stay was written by Teddy Park, in collaboration with Seo Won jin and it was produced by Park alone.

It is considered a sad song, but with hopeful lyrics, coming from a lover, asking the other one to stay:

I’m not asking for much

Stay with me

Through the "la, la, la, la" part of the song, the piece transforms itself from a sad one to a hopeful, full of love and energy anthem.

A music video was made for the free Stay piano sheets in November 2016, by Han Sa Min.

The video was released on the band’s official YouTube channel.

In October 2016, YG Entertainment released the behind-the-scenes video of the music video itself.

It was a total success, with over 200 million views on YouTube.

In the video, we can see all the band members singing the song, in a parking space, in an empty room, also in front of a McDonald’s restaurant, all of these being long ago abandoned.

Somewhere in the middle of the song, we can feel some hip-hop influences, which are not necessarily declared anywhere.

The good news is that Stay is today on our website and you can go ahead and try playing it at your piano at home.
