With the incredible spirit of December, we bring in front of you one of the most wonderful Christmas songs – the free Christmas Waltz piano sheets.
This is a song originally composed by Frank Sinatra and released in 1954, with worldwide success in the music industry.
Because of its success, many artists have covered the song over the years.
One of the best interpretations of The Christmas Waltz is the one by The Carpenters, but worth mentioning are versions by Peggy Lee, Jack Jones, John Travolta, Tommy Flanagan, David Rose, Sammy Cahn, Andy Williams, Oscar Peterson and many others.
Frank Sinatra was one of the best-selling American music artists of all time, selling more than 150 million records worldwide.
He is an iconic figure and the greatest singer of the 20th century, with a big history behind and many wonderful songs left behind for us.
The free Christmas Waltz piano sheet music was written by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn in 1954, having on its B-side the song White Christmas.
The song was included in the 1957 album named A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra and in the 1968 album, The Sinatra Family Wish You a Merry Christmas.
The story behind the composition of the song is simply wonderful when Jule Styne one day called Sammy Cahn to say that Frank Sinatra wants a Christmas song, and at first, she got rejected, because they had just composed White Christmas.
In the end, the result was wonderful and so it came up The Christmas Waltz, for Frank Sinatra.
The story is well-known and it was also included or referred to in other artists’ songs, for example in 1992 when Mel Torme recorded his first Christmas album and the liner notes indicate that "Mr Cahn wrote a new full set of additional lyrics as a personal gift to Mel."
The Christmas Waltz has a lovely cartoon music video, featuring Frank Sinatra’s cartoon character going Christmas shopping and getting the house ready for holidays together with his family and dog.
