Frank Sinatra opened the door to the wonderful world of music, enchanting everyone with his talent as a singer and actor.
Sinatra lived between 1915-1998 and he is one of the best-selling artists of all time, making history and leaving behind incredible works of art.
He sang jazz, swing, easy listening and traditional pop music genres and he was also a very successful actor.
He didn’t play any instruments, but his voice remains one of the most appreciated in the world of music.
We chose for our article today one of his best singles – the free Fly Me to The Moon piano sheets.
The song was originally named In Other Words and it was released in April 1954.
Fly Me To The Moon was written by Bart Howard and it was first recorded by Kaye Ballard, and in 1999 was honoured by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, inducting it as a "Towering Song".
The version of the song we are addressing today - Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra was associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon.
The song’s history comes from a time when Bart Howard was asked by a publisher to come up with a simple song, because until then, for more than 20 years, he had been playing the piano to accompany cabaret singers and show songs.
And this is how he came up with a cabaret ballad – In Other Words, initially composed in ¾ time, but changed afterwards to 4/4 by Quincy Jones.
Fly Me To The Moon embraced enormous success and this is the reason why it has been covered by many artists and has been used in popular culture.
We are honoured to include the free Fly Me To The Moon piano sheet music in our sheet collection, and we gladly invite you to play it at your piano at home.
