"November Rain" is the title of a single appearing on Guns N’ Roses’ 1991 album "Use Your Illusion I", their third studio album.
The album was the first one from a series of two albums recorded during the Use Your Illusion Tour, being a great success that sold over 5 million copies in the United States.
"November Rain" is a power ballad and Guns N’ Roses’ lead vocalist Axl Rose wrote it, the band releasing it as a single in June 1992.
A symphonic rock song that lasts almost 9 minutes, it has earned the third rank on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts.
There is an exclusive piano version for the single, extending to 9 minutes and 45 seconds and there is also a guitar version that lasts only 4 minutes and 57 seconds, while the original version lasts 8 minutes and 57 seconds.
"November Rain" was performed in 1992 at the MTV Video Music Awards with an orchestral backing, but usually, when on the tour, the band didn’t have this backing.
In 2006, the single has been voted at the top of the Rock 1000 list, which was a top made by a New Zealand radio station. In 2007, it reached second on the Rock 1000 list, getting surpassed by AC/DC with "Back in Black".
Even getting featured on the "Top 200 Tracks of the 90s", where it hit place number 140, "November Rain" has been originally released in 1985 as an acoustic version by label Waggle Records.
The single reached top ten on the charts in countries such as Australia, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
