"Thinking Out Loud" is a song from the English singer Ed Sheeran.
It was produced by an old collaborator of the artist, Jake Gosling and it was written by the singer himself in collaboration with Amy Wadge.
He has described the song as a "romantic ballad" and as a "walking down the aisle song".
The single was released for digital download on August 14, 2014 and it is expected to be released on a 7" vinyl, on the Record Store Day Black Friday 2014. The vinyl single will feature the song "Thinking Out Loud" and the song "I'm A Mess (Live from Lightship 95)".
It was released on June 18, 2014 as an "instant grat", through iTunes Store.
It stands as the promotional single from the artist's second album, "x", which was released in the same year.
