"Alone Together" was released on August 6th, 2013 and it’s a song from the American rock band Fall Out Boy.
It’s part of their fifth studio album, "Save Rock and Roll". It represents the third released overall single and second mainstream radio single.
"Alone Together" was written by Pete Wents, Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley and it was produced by Butch Walker.
The single belongs to the pop rock genre and it is part of the Island Label. The song was recorded in the period of 2012-2013 at the Rubyred Recordings, in Venice, California.
It received positive reviews from the music critics and reached many important charts. The single topped the UK Rock and Metal Chart and was also present in the Billboard US Mainstream Top 40, Billboard Hot Rock Songs, Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs and UK Singles Chart.
"Alone Together" was a commercial success having had more than half a million downloads. This led to the single to be certified Gold by the RIAA, in April 2014.
The music video of Alone Together is part of a musical film, "Young Blood Chronicles", which features every song from the band’s album "Save Rock and Roll". It was produced by the band’s member themselves and it features American rapper Big Sean.
Fall Out Boy have performed "Alone Together" live on various occasions such as at the show "America’s Got Talent", on the talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", at the "Today Show", in 2013.
The band went on a nationwide tour, in Australia, named "Save Rock and Roll Australian Tour", where the single was also performed and afterwards made a guest appearance at the Australian singing completion "The X Factor". This led to "Alone Together" to debut at number 40 in the Australian Aria Singles Chart.
The single was also performed at "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" along "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark". A unique performance was in 2013, in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, when the audience was fully implicated in the artistic act.
