The single started strong, hitting the radio stations, becoming part of the A’ list for the Radio 1 and Radio 2, and part of the B’ list on Absolute Radio. It charted moderately well internationally, getting rank 18 on the Belgium Ultratip Flanders charts and 16 on the Ultratip Wallonia ones, in Germany getting only place 62 on the Media Control Charts. The IRMA charts from Ireland placed it at 25, while the FIMI Italian charts at 20.
In Switzerland, the Schweizer Hitparade even got the single to the tenth place, in the United Kingdom, on the Official Charts Company, getting as high as 19, in the US, ranking 29 on the Billboard Triple-A.
On the year-end charts, Candy got to place 79 on the Swiss Singles Chart and 179 on the UK Singles Charts. In the United Kingdom it was also certified Silver on the BPI, even getting Gold in Switzerland by the IFPI.
