"Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" is a song by R&B singer Rihanna.
The hit single was featured on her fifth album called "Loud", released in 2010. Including hip-hop singer Eminem as a guest, the song was written by Eminem alongside Skylar Grey and Alex da Kid.
It is the second part of the hit single "Love The Way You Lie", which was released as part of one of Eminem’s albums.
This sequel of Eminem’s single was an idea of recreating the story behind the song from the perspective of the female, meaning that Rihanna would this time be the lead singer. Even if Rihanna had her doubts about doing such a thing, after hearing the demo from Eminem, they started working on it, adding piano and drums instrumentals.
"Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" is a mid-tempo song and has been made available in 2 main versions, the original one which includes Eminem and another bonus version on iTunes, without Eminem’s vocals. There has been critical appreciation about this sequel, the contrast between the two singers’ voices being well received.
Theatrical and raw, this sequel has reached the status of a power ballad, many critics considering this version as being better than the first one.
Rihanna’s performance was called "commanding, soulful and vulnerable". Being performed even live, "Love the Way You Lie (Part II)" was part of the medley sung by Rihanna at the American Music Awards of 2010.
