"Space Dementia" is the title of a song by the progressive rock British band Muse.
It was featured on their album number two titled "Origin of Symmetry".
The album was recorded during September 2000 and February 2011 and released on the 17th of July, 2001. The labels Mushroom and Taste backed the release for this album that incorporates genres ranging from alternative rock to space rock, progressive rock and hard rock.
The album that included "Space Dementia" was a great success, especially in the United Kingdom. It reached the third position on the UK Albums Chart and was ultimately giving the Platinum certification. "Space Dementia" was played live during the Reading Festival and Leeds Festival in August 2011. On those dates, the entire album was played, as a celebration for 10 years since the album’s release.
The four singles from "Origin of Symmetry" were "Plug In Baby", released on the 5th of March, 2001, "New Born", released on the fifth of June, 2001, "Bliss", released on the 20th of August, 2001 and "Hyper Music / Feeling Good", released on the 19th of November, 2001.
Even if not part of these singles "Space Dementia" is a wonderful song, featuring their spacing out style.
"Space Dementia" was featured on an advert for a Christian Dior fragrance. That specific perfume was Midnight Poison, released in 2007. This video advert includes Eva Green wearing a blue-colored dress and it has been created by director Wong Kar-wai.
With a 6 minutes and 20 seconds length, "Space Dementia" is featured as the third track on the album. John Leckie was the producer and engineer of the song, aided in the engineering part by Ric Peet and Chris Brown. Brown also occupied himself with the programming of "Space Dementia" and several other tracks on the album.
Claire Lewis was assisting with the engineering for many tracks, including for "Space Dementia". Matthew Bellamy was the writer and composer of all of the songs on the album.
