Centuries is a single by an American rock group called Fall Out Boy, which was featured as the lead single for their studio album American Beauty/American Psycho from 2015, their sixth one to date.
Getting produced by J.R. Rotem and Omega, the band helped write the song and got released by the labels DCD2 and Island, initially available on the ninth of September 2014 as a digital download.
The story for Centuries was the inspiration of Patrick Stump, who brought the idea of a David vs Goliath story while the band was on the Monumentour, alongside Paramore.
The free Centuries piano sheet music was written to empower people who are a little weird, the parts of the single feature of the song Tom’s Diner by Suzanne Vega, making the song a great and innovative track for the pop-punk genre.
Just as their tour with Paramore was over, the band released a trailer video for the song on the fourth of September, being played first on the eighth that month on BBC Radio 1.
One day later, it was made available internationally through a digital download version.
MTV was the first to praise the song, Under the Gun following by calling Fall Out Boy up-coming bonafide pop stars thanks to this single.
With an infusion of electronic elements and a great charm to it, the free Centuries piano sheets were generally well-received by the critics.
The official music video was released in October 2014 and presents the band as gladiators, having other religious elements and even a giant fight in it.
The video was filmed in Canada, at the Fort Henry National Historic Site in Kingston, Ontario. Some names of the actors involved in the video making are Jon Ambrose, Ben Devries, Simu Liu, Paul Ebejer, and Sebastian Deery.
Centuries sold well over 100.000 copies in its first week, getting initial chartings such as rank 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and even fourth on the Digital Songs charts.
It started off as second on the Hot Rock Songs and got to 14 on the Alternative Songs charts. Being a great radio success, it also got to place 16 on the Pop Songs charts in January 2015.
On the Billboard Hot 100, it got as high as twelfth place after 5 months, a feat that made the band a top 10 act on the Artist 100 charts.
Its best ranking spots were tenth on the Billboard Hot 100 and thirteenth on the Adult Pop and Pop charts.
Centuries by Fall Out Boy got certified double Platinum by the RIAA in the United States and even topped the UK Rock and Metal charts, also getting top 50 in Canada, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Slovakia.
